Hair Fibers for Men: Crown, Part and Hairline Techniques

A practical guide to using cosmetic hair fibers on common male thinning patterns without overdoing the result.

For many men, the easiest place to start is the crown because thinning often develops while substantial hair remains around the area. Apply from above, build gradually and check the result from the back as well as the front.

On the hairline, restraint matters more. Fibers need hair to attach to, so use them to strengthen the appearance of existing miniaturized hair rather than trying to manufacture a new edge on bare skin.

Short hair can work well with fibers when there is enough density for the product to distribute through. Style first and apply second so combing or brushing does not remove your coverage.

If thinning is progressing quickly or the scalp is irritated, address the underlying hair-loss question separately. Cosmetic coverage and medical treatment are different jobs.
